It was a solemn and spiritual moment
when the medallion of Christ and the Children of the World was dedicated
at John Paul II Elementary School.
Following the Children's Mass, Father Ed Pierce and Father Andrew Swietochowski
presided over the ceremony and led the children to the school as they
sang and signed "We Are One Body." The devotion attached
to the blessing of the art piece, depicting Jesus' love for all children,
brought tears
to the eyes. In the artwork, Jesus is surrounded by children of every
color. It serves as a reminder to children that no matter how bad a
day
they are
having, Jesus loves them and nothing else is important. The piece was
presented in memory of William Rittenhouse, (1930-1995), by his widow
in what would
have been the 50th anniversary year of their marriage.
