Families at Holy Family and Holy Spirit Catholic Churches now have a new way to plan ahead for their child’s early education. St. John Paul II School has announced a Tuition Match Program for its preschool, designed to help parents begin saving early while doubling their investment through a matching fund opportunity.

Through this new program, families can register their child for St. John Paul II Preschool before they reach preschool age. Early registrants will be placed on a waiting list—helping secure their spot—and will be eligible to have their tuition contributions matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 with thanks to a generous benefactor of the school.

“This program is a wonderful way for parents, grandparents, and parishioners to invest in Catholic education from the start,” said Principal Sarah Timmer. “It not only provides a financial head start but also strengthens the connection between our families and parishes.”

Eligibility for the Tuition Match Program is open to any child baptized at Holy Family or Holy Spirit Catholic Church, or who is a parishioner, and has not yet reached age three. A one-time grandfather clause extends eligibility to children who have already turned three but plan to begin preschool in the 2026–2027 school year.

Families, friends, and parishioners are also encouraged to contribute toward a child’s tuition fund. Contributions can be made via check or cash, and donors are asked to note the child’s name with each gift. Recurring payments are welcome, as long as all contributions are made before the child’s third birthday to qualify for matching funds.

To participate, families can submit the Advance Registration & Tuition Match form and payment to St. John Paul II School at 1510 W. Elm, Mitchell, SD 57301, or email Principal Sarah Timmer at sarah.timmer@k12.sd.us.
